Candidates seeking admission into Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, for the 2026/2027 academic session are advised to check their admission status on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
An admission update circulating online indicates that OAU candidates should begin checking JAMB CAPS for possible admission offers. However, candidates should confirm their individual status directly on the official JAMB portal, as the update does not establish that admission has been offered to every applicant.
HOW TO CHECK OAU ADMISSION STATUS ON JAMB CAPS
Candidates can follow these steps to check their admission status:
1. Visit the "official JAMB e-Facility portal" (https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/).
2. Log in using the email address and password associated with your JAMB profile.
3. Locate and click Check Admission Status.
4. Select Access My CAPS.
5. Open the Admission Status section to check whether you have been offered admission.
If you are using a mobile phone and the options are not visible, try switching your browser to Desktop Site.
WHAT IF YOUR ADMISSION STATUS IS NOT AVAILABLE?
Candidates who do not see an admission offer should remain patient and continue checking their JAMB CAPS regularly.
Admission processing can take place in batches, and candidates may receive updates at different times. Not seeing an offer immediately does not automatically mean that you have been denied admission.
Candidates should also ensure that their O'Level results have been uploaded to JAMB and that their admission details are correct.
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO OAU CANDIDATES
- Accept an admission offer on JAMB CAPS only after confirming that the details are correct.
- Do not pay individuals who promise to secure admission.
- Rely on official university announcements and the JAMB portal for confirmation.
- Remember that an admission offer must be processed through the approved JAMB system.
Candidates can also visit the "official OAU website" (https://oauife.edu.ng/) for university announcements and admission updates.
