JAMB Introduces New NCE and Agric-Related ND Admission Rules for 2026/2027 Session

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced new admission guidelines for candidates seeking admission into Colleges of Education and Agric-related National Diploma (ND) programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The new policy is aimed at streamlining the admission process and ensuring proper verification of candidates' qualifications before admission is offered.

Major Changes for Colleges of Education

According to the new guidelines, candidates will no longer be able to gain direct admission into degree programmes through Colleges of Education. Instead, applicants must first secure admission into the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programme before progressing through the approved academic pathway.

This marks a significant change for prospective students who intend to study in Colleges of Education across the country.

O'Level Verification Fees

JAMB has also introduced O'Level result verification fees for candidates applying under the new system.

The verification fees are as follows:

- One sitting result – ₦1,500
- Two sittings result – ₦2,000

Candidates are advised to ensure that their O'Level results are correctly uploaded and verified to avoid delays in the admission process.

Admission Registration Charges

Under the new admission arrangement, candidates will be required to pay:

- Application Fee – ₦3,500
- Registration Fee – ₦700

However, certain categories of candidates may be exempted from the application fee.

Special Provision for 2026 UTME Candidates

Candidates who participated in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and selected a College of Education or an Agric-related ND programme will have their admission processed automatically under the new system.

Such candidates will only be required to obtain an O'Level Verification Code and pay the ₦700 registration fee. They will not be required to pay the ₦3,500 application fee.

Important Notice for Awaiting Results Candidates

JAMB has emphasized that candidates awaiting WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB results cannot be offered admission until their results are released, uploaded, and successfully verified.

Prospective applicants are therefore encouraged to upload their results immediately after release to facilitate smooth admission processing.

Conclusion

The newly introduced admission guidelines represent an important development in Nigeria's education admission system. Candidates seeking admission into Colleges of Education and Agric-related ND programmes should familiarize themselves with these requirements and ensure full compliance to avoid complications during admission processing.
